Movies with the worst visual effects

Article by Roberto Fuzzy

I remember the times when I thought Steven Segal movies were bad. Then I saw Bare Wench project, which is an erotic parody of Blair Witch Project. Now this was bad. After that I saw Paris Hilton's Pledge this. Even worse. These aren't bad effects-wise, these are simply bad. But then I saw Mega Shark versus Crocosaurus, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, and....well, you can already imagine what I want to say just based on these titles. But what might be the movies with the worst visual effect? And I don't mean old movies like Poltergeist or something similar, movies with bad visual effects mainly because of the decade they were made, but movies which are simply bad in the sense of graphics in any century considering what was available at the time.

The Mummy Returns (2001)

The budget of the movie was huge, 98 million, so it's not like it was a B category movie with no money to spend. Yet, it would seem none of the money was spent on the visual effects.

Mission to Mars (2000)

Do you remember the martian from the end of the movie? Well, the guy sure was cartoonish conidering it wasn't meant to be.

The Lawnmower Man (1992)

The movie itself ain't good. It really isn't. The graphics? Even worse.

The Langoliers (ABC, 1995)

I'm a great fan of the movie, Stephen King and all, have probably seen it like five time. But when the langoliers finally appeared, it was sort of funny because of the visual effects. My younger bro could have probably created them, and he's a a football coach not a visual effects designer.

Anaconda 3 (2008)

The Anakonda movies, well, what can I say about them - they ae sort of ridiculous from the beginning, but the first two parts had pretty okayish visuals, especially compared to the third one. Then again, David Hasselhoff is playing there, so maybe it's fitting.

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus (2009)

I mentioned that one in the beginning. One of the worst ones in my opinion. Especially the plane eating scene!

Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus

You guessed it, that's my personal favorite!

There is one thing that, if I actually saw the movie, might be added to this list. But I've been too afraid to watch it. It's Titantic 2. And yes, it exists.
